The Autism Can End Grant Fund
Tim Stiers
In 2003
I was saddened to learn my great-nephew was diagnosed with Autism, something
I knew nothing about. I learned quickly that early intervention with intense
one on one therapy was critical for
his development of communication and
social skills. Knowing the work efforts and accomplishments it took I am
proud of my nephew and my wife "Aunt Barb".
My main roll in EDM is to review all the grant applications along with my
wife Barb and a third impartial representative. There are hundreds of
families in need of financial support and we have limited funds to disburse
so the process of choosing that disbursement is a difficult process.
Since the inception of ACE (Autism Can End) annual golf outing fund raiser
Barb and I have coordinated the silent auction which has continued to grow
over the years and supply a meaningful contribution to the grant fund.
